ReadingTime.org, created by Dr Margaret Phinney and Dr Gay Ward, fosters a community for teachers (including Montessorians), parents, and other educators. It’s a dynamic hub championing engaging literature, nurturing reading skills, and leveraging a developmental reading continuum tool to identify and personalize learning across Engagement (motivation to read and write), Comprehension (finding meaning) and Language-to-Print (decoding, encoding, print features, and Montessori grammar).

We will also provide bibliographies of books related to Big Ideas as well as research references and recommendations on effective strategies for supporting reading for meaning. We invite conversations about literacy learning in a forum provided by our blog where we welcome sharing successes and challenges that learners are experiencing as well as the opportunity to discuss issues relevant to teaching and learning in the context of rich literature.
